IT Visa – Hire Global Talent for Your Company

Legal Framework
Under the amendments introduced by Law No. 144 of 19.06.2025, responsibilities for reviewing IT Visa applications were transferred from the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization to the Administration of Moldova IT Park.
MITP has established a specialized IT Visa Evaluation Commission, a collegial body responsible for examining and assessing requests from IT companies.
Who Can Benefit from IT Visa?
Executive-Level Personnel
Foreign citizens who manage a company, including:
- Administrators
- Members of the executive committee
- CEOs, directors
- Founders/shareholders or board members who are formally employed and hold management roles
Highly Qualified IT Specialists
Foreign professionals with advanced expertise essential for designing, developing, or managing IT technologies, processes, and services defined under Article 8 of Law No. 77/2016.
Categories and definitions are provided by Law No. 200/2010 on the Regime of Foreigners.
Validity of the IT Visa
- Executives: Up to 4 years, renewable for another 4-year term.
- IT Specialists: Up to 2 years, renewable for up to 2 years (within the limits of the employment contract).
Application Process
The Application Process outlines the formal steps and responsibilities for IT companies requesting an IT Visa-related opinion, describing at a high level what each stage involves, what documents are required, and how the review outcome is communicated.
It offers a transparent, easy-to-follow framework that reduces ambiguity, supports compliance, and helps companies move through the procedure efficiently.
Request the IT Visa Opinion from MITP Commission
IT companies must submit an application (according to the prescribed template) to the IT Visa Commission via email: itviza@mitp.md, attaching the following documents:
Obtain the MITP Commission opinion
The Commission issues its decision within 10 working days. The service is free of charge.
Important:
By submitting the application, the company commits to informing both the Commission and the General Inspectorate for Migration of any changes related to the foreign employee’s work status (termination, change of role, activity type, etc.) within 10 working days.
